Why is the Hoya australis a local favourite? Here’s what we think:

  • Aussie beauty. This Aussie native features rounded and vigorous foliage that boasts of a glossy and somewhat waxy texture. Varieties under the australis species offer a wide range of leaf variegation, including creamy, splash of various colours, veiny. Even the simplest variegation looks stunning and can easily mesmerize.

  • Easy care. Hoya australis is a fast-growing, low maintenance plant. Leave is somewhere, it will thrive without much TLC. However, place it in a fast-draining medium, under lots of indirect sunlight and this Hoya will achieve the optimal vigour and beauty that should.

  • Flower power. When provided proper care, the Australis rewards with a stunning cluster of up to 40 star-shaped florettes, creamy-white in colour with red markings in the center. These flowers exude strong sweet scent, signaling a good amount of nectar irresistible to local pollinators such as bees and butterflies.
